This Refund Policy ("Policy") is incorporated into and governed by the Sociala Terms of Use and should be read together with the Terms of Use, Fees and Commissions Policy, Payment Systems Policy, Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, Community Guidelines, Age Assurance and Parental Consent Policy, App Store Compliance Addendum, and all other applicable Platform Policies.
In the event of any inconsistency or conflict, the Terms of Use shall prevail unless the Terms of Use expressly state that another Platform Policy controls for a specific subject matter. With respect to fee amounts, fee treatment, commissions, deductions, and payout calculations, the Fees and Commissions Policy controls unless expressly superseded by a written Fee Waiver/Addendum executed by an authorized officer of Sociala.
Except where required by applicable law, app-store rules, payment processor rules, or expressly stated in this Policy, all purchases, payments, deposits, paid interactions, subscriptions, donations, and other transactions made through Sociala are final and non-refundable.
All refunds, credits, reversals, charge adjustments, and related transaction adjustments are calculated net of all applicable Platform fees, referral fees, affiliate commissions, creator commissions, payment processing charges, app-store charges, taxes, cashback, promotional adjustments, chargeback fees, currency conversion costs, and other deductions described in the Terms of Use, Fees and Commissions Policy, Payment Systems Policy, and other Platform Policies.
No refund, credit, reversal, charge adjustment, payout adjustment, or customer accommodation shall be interpreted as a waiver, reduction, or modification of any Platform fee, commission, referral fee, app-store charge, processing charge, payout condition, or related charge unless expressly stated in a written Fee Waiver/Addendum executed by an authorized officer of Sociala.
1. Definitions"App-Store Transaction" means a purchase, subscription, in-app product, in-app credit, paid feature, or digital item processed through Apple In-App Purchase, Google Play Billing, or another app-store billing system.
"Chargeback" means a dispute, reversal, retrieval request, payment reversal, payment provider claim, card network dispute, bank dispute, or similar process initiated through a bank, card issuer, payment processor, app store, wallet provider, or other payment ecosystem.
"Digital Content" means posts, paid posts, paid Channels, Smartlists, subscriptions, creator content, files, videos, text, educational materials, community access, digital unlocks, or other content or functionality made available through the Platform.
"Digital Interaction Service" means a paid interaction facilitated by Sociala, including Paid Messages, Consultations, video sessions, coaching calls, advisory sessions, paid reactions, paid boosts, paid dislikes, donations connected to digital experiences, creator interactions, or similar Platform-enabled interactions.
"Platform Balance" or "Sociala Balance" means a Platform-managed balance or credit feature that may be available for eligible users and eligible transactions. It is not a bank account, stored-value account, escrow account, trust account, fiduciary account, deposit account, or cash-equivalent account. Platform Balance has no interest, no cash value outside the Platform, and may be restricted by law, app-store rules, age category, parental consent status, payment provider rules, or Sociala's Platform Policies.
"Platform Credit" means a credit issued to a user's Sociala Balance or account for use on eligible Platform transactions, subject to the Terms of Use and Platform Policies. Platform Credits are not cash, are not transferable, and are not redeemable outside the Platform except where required by applicable law.
"Refund" means a reversal or return of a transaction amount to the original payment method, app-store billing account, payment provider account, or another method required or permitted by applicable law, app-store rules, payment processor rules, or Sociala's Platform Policies.
"Minor" means a user under eighteen (18) years old. Sociala does not permit users under thirteen (13) to create an account or use the Platform.
"Age Assurance Signals" means age category, age range, parental consent status, purchase approval status, significant-change approval status, consent revocation status, app-store install identifiers, or similar signals received from Apple, Google, app stores, operating systems, parental-control tools, or other legally permitted sources.
2. General Refund Rule2.1 Finality of Digital TransactionsBecause Sociala provides Digital Content, Digital Interaction Services, subscriptions, creator access, paid messages, consultations, donations, and other digital transactions, purchases are generally final and non-refundable once access has been provided, content has been made available, a digital service has been delivered, or a transaction has been fulfilled.
A purchase is not refundable merely because the user changes their mind, no longer wants the content or feature, expected a different result, disagrees with a creator, is dissatisfied with content or advice, forgot to cancel a subscription, misunderstood a price or subscription term that was disclosed before purchase, deleted their account, violated Platform Policies, or failed to use purchased access during the available period.
2.2 Sociala Balance vs. Original Payment MethodWhere Sociala grants a refund or credit for a transaction processed directly by Sociala or its payment processor, Sociala may issue the refund or credit to the user's Sociala Balance unless applicable law, app-store rules, payment processor rules, or Sociala's discretion requires refund to the original payment method.
App-Store Transactions may be refunded only through the applicable app store, billing provider, or storefront where required by the applicable app-store rules. Sociala may not be able to refund App-Store Transactions directly to a user's Sociala Balance or original payment method.
2.3 No Guaranteed Refund MethodRefund method, timing, status, reversibility, fee treatment, tax treatment, entitlement removal, subscription cancellation, and payout impact may vary by payment method, device, platform, storefront, country, state, region, app store, payment processor, currency, user eligibility, age category, parental approval status, and applicable law.
3. Platform-Specific Refund Rules3.1 Web, Stripe, Cards, ACH, and External Payment MethodsFor purchases processed on web or through Stripe, card networks, ACH, Apple Pay through Stripe, Google Pay through Stripe, bank transfer, or another external payment method permitted by Sociala, Sociala may review refund requests and may issue a refund, Platform Credit, reversal, partial credit, or other adjustment where permitted by the applicable payment processor and Platform Policies.
Stripe, card networks, banks, wallet providers, and other payment processors may impose their own timing, fee, reversal, chargeback, fraud, identity verification, currency conversion, and dispute rules. Sociala is not responsible for delays, fees, denials, or technical limitations imposed by those providers.
3.2 Apple App Store and Apple In-App PurchaseFor purchases made through the iOS app using Apple In-App Purchase, subscriptions, in-app credits, digital unlocks, paid content, paid creator features, paid interactions, or other Apple-managed billing flows, refund requests may need to be submitted to Apple and may be governed by Apple's refund, subscription, billing, Ask to Buy, Family Sharing, parental approval, StoreKit, and App Store rules.
Sociala may not be able to grant, deny, accelerate, reverse, or modify refunds controlled by Apple. If Apple grants a refund, cancels a transaction, revokes a purchase, reports a refund through Apple transaction notifications, or otherwise changes transaction status, Sociala may revoke, suspend, reduce, or adjust access, entitlement, subscription status, Platform Credits, creator earnings, referral commissions, payouts, or related records.
Apple Pay through Stripe is a wallet payment method and is not the same as Apple In-App Purchase. Refund routing depends on whether the transaction was processed by Apple In-App Purchase, Stripe, or another permitted payment mechanism.
3.3 Google Play and Google Play BillingFor purchases made through the Android app using Google Play Billing, refund requests may be handled by Google Play, Sociala, or both depending on the transaction type, region, product type, billing flow, applicable Google Play policy, and applicable law.
Google Play may control or limit cancellation, refund, subscription, purchase approval, family payment, parental approval, age rating, and billing decisions for Google Play Billing transactions. If Google Play grants a refund, cancels a transaction, reports a refund, revokes app approval, or changes purchase or entitlement status, Sociala may revoke, suspend, reduce, or adjust access, entitlement, subscription status, Platform Credits, creator earnings, referral commissions, payouts, or related records.
Google Pay through Stripe is a wallet payment method and is not the same as Google Play Billing. Refund routing depends on whether the transaction was processed by Google Play Billing, Stripe, or another permitted payment mechanism.
3.4 App-Store Fees, Taxes, and External ChargesApp-store commissions, payment processor fees, card network fees, bank fees, currency conversion costs, tax amounts, and other external charges may not be recoverable by Sociala. Unless required by law or unless the refund results solely from a verified billing error attributable to Sociala, such non-recoverable charges are generally not refundable.
4. Age Assurance, Parental Approval, and Minors4.1 General Minor RestrictionsMinors may be restricted from purchases, monetization, payouts, donations, Paid Messages, paid Consultations, paid reactions, paid boosts, paid dislikes, subscriptions, Smartlists, referrals, affiliate commissions, creator tools, Channel administration, and other paid or age-restricted features as described in the Terms of Use and Platform Policies.
Sociala does not knowingly allow minors to monetize content, receive payouts, administer Channels, participate in referral or affiliate programs, or access payment-related features unless a limited feature is expressly enabled by Sociala, legally permitted, and all required parental approval, age-assurance, and safety controls have been satisfied.
4.2 Parental Approval and Purchase ApprovalWhere applicable law or app-store requirements require parental or guardian approval for a minor to download the app, continue using the app, access a feature, or make a purchase, Sociala may restrict or disable the relevant access unless required approval is obtained and verified.
If a purchase or feature is not completed because required parental approval is pending, denied, expired, withdrawn, revoked, unavailable, unverifiable, or technically unavailable, Sociala may cancel the purchase, restrict access, issue a Platform Credit, request app-store refund handling, or take other action required or permitted by law, app-store rules, payment processor rules, and Platform Policies.
4.3 Revoked Consent or App ApprovalIf Sociala receives notice that a parent or guardian has revoked consent or app approval for a minor, Sociala may restrict or disable access to the Platform or affected features, purchases, subscriptions, Paid Messages, Consultations, digital content, or accounts.
Revocation of parental approval does not automatically entitle the user to a refund for Digital Content, Digital Interaction Services, subscriptions, donations, or other benefits already accessed, delivered, used, consumed, or fulfilled before revocation, unless required by applicable law or app-store rules.
4.4 Age MisrepresentationRefunds are not available where a user misrepresents age, parental approval status, identity, location, account ownership, purchase authorization, or eligibility, or attempts to bypass age gates, purchase approvals, parental consent flows, app-store rules, or Sociala's safety controls.
4.5 Significant ChangesCertain changes to the Platform, paid features, subscriptions, digital products, data categories, app ratings, purchase ratings, or minor-facing experiences may require app-store notice, parental approval, or user confirmation. If a significant change affects a minor and required approval is pending, denied, or revoked, Sociala may restrict access to the affected feature or purchase. Refunds or credits, if any, will be handled according to applicable law, app-store rules, and this Policy.
5. Circumstances in Which Refunds or Credits May Be AvailableRefunds or credits may be granted in the following limited circumstances, at Sociala's sole discretion unless otherwise required by law, app-store rules, or payment processor rules.
5.1 Access Failure Due to Immediate DeletionIf purchased Digital Content is deleted by the creator before the user had any access to it, Sociala may issue a refund or Platform Credit.
If the user already accessed, viewed, streamed, downloaded, unlocked, or otherwise consumed the Digital Content before it was later deleted, restricted, demonetized, or removed, no refund will be issued solely on that basis unless required by law or expressly provided in the Terms of Use or Platform Policies.
5.2 Unauthorized or Fraudulent TransactionsIf a transaction was unauthorized or fraudulent and is reported within the applicable request period, Sociala may investigate and, where appropriate, issue a refund, Platform Credit, reversal, account restriction, fraud hold, payout hold, chargeback response, or other action in accordance with this Policy, the Terms of Use, payment processor requirements, app-store requirements, fraud controls, and applicable law.
Sociala may require identity verification, account verification, device information, payment information, transaction details, police reports, bank communications, or other documentation reasonably necessary to evaluate an unauthorized or fraudulent transaction claim.
5.3 Confirmed Platform Billing ErrorsIf an error attributable solely to Sociala results in an incorrect charge, duplicate charge, incorrect renewal amount, incorrect minimum charge, or other confirmed billing error, Sociala may issue a refund, Platform Credit, reversal, correction, or other adjustment.
Where the refund is due solely to a verified billing error attributable to Sociala, Sociala may refund related Platform fees or processing charges where recoverable and legally permissible. Third-party charges, app-store charges, taxes, and payment processor charges may remain non-refundable if they are not recoverable by Sociala.
5.4 Duplicate ChargesIf the same transaction is charged more than once due to a confirmed Sociala or processor error, Sociala may refund or credit the duplicate charge after verification. Multiple authorized purchases of the same or similar content, feature, subscription, donation, Paid Message, Consultation, or digital product are not treated as duplicate charges merely because the user did not intend to make multiple purchases.
5.5 Subscription Renewal Frozen FundsFunds temporarily frozen or reserved in connection with an upcoming subscription renewal are not refundable while held for renewal processing because they have not yet been finally charged as a completed renewal.
If the subscription is canceled before renewal processing is successfully completed, frozen funds will generally be released back to the user's available Sociala Balance. Refunds for subscriptions that have already renewed are governed by this Policy, the Terms of Use, the Payment Systems Policy, the Fees and Commissions Policy, and applicable app-store or payment processor rules.
5.6 Platform Technical FailureIf a verified Platform-side technical failure prevents access to purchased Digital Content or prevents completion of a paid Digital Interaction Service and Sociala cannot reasonably restore access, complete the service, or provide an equivalent remedy, Sociala may issue a refund, Platform Credit, rescheduling option, or other adjustment.
Refunds are generally not available for user-side technical issues, including device incompatibility, browser issues, internet connection problems, camera or microphone failures, email access failures, magic-link access issues, time zone mistakes, user software or hardware problems, user account settings, user notification settings, or failure to follow instructions.
5.7 Enforcement-Related OutcomesIf content, Channels, paid features, accounts, or transactions are removed, restricted, age-gated, demonetized, suspended, or terminated by Sociala as part of moderation, fraud prevention, compliance review, child-safety review, app-store compliance, chargeback management, or enforcement under the Terms of Use or Platform Policies, payments already processed are generally non-refundable except where required by law.
Sociala may, at its sole discretion, issue a Platform Credit or other adjustment where Sociala determines that doing so is appropriate and consistent with user safety, legal compliance, Platform integrity, payment processor rules, and app-store requirements.
5.8 Refunds Required by LawNothing in this Policy limits any non-waivable refund, cancellation, consumer protection, chargeback, app-store, or statutory rights that apply to a user under applicable law.
6. Digital Content, Paid Posts, Smartlists, and Paid Channels6.1 Access and FulfillmentDigital Content purchases, including paid posts, paid Channels, Smartlists, paid creator content, digital unlocks, and similar purchases, are generally considered fulfilled when the content or access is made available to the user's account, whether or not the user chooses to view, stream, read, download, or otherwise use it.
6.2 No Refund After AccessExcept where required by law, refunds are not available after Digital Content has been accessed, viewed, streamed, downloaded, unlocked, included in a purchased Smartlist, made available through a paid Channel or subscription, or otherwise consumed.
6.3 Creator Deletion or Content RemovalIf a creator deletes content, pauses a Channel, closes a Channel to new subscribers, removes subscribers after expiration of their paid access period, deletes a Channel, profile, or account after a user already accessed or received the benefit of the purchased Digital Content or subscription access, no refund will be issued solely on that basis.
Where applicable, users may continue to access purchased content or subscription benefits during any remaining paid access period or grace period described in the Terms of Use.
6.4 SmartlistsSmartlist purchases are generally non-refundable once the Smartlist or included content has been made available. If one or more items in a Smartlist are later removed, restricted, age-gated, or made unavailable, Sociala may, at its discretion, issue a partial credit, substitute access, or no refund depending on access history, creator settings, legal requirements, app-store rules, moderation requirements, and Platform Policies.
6.5 Channel Closure and DeletionFor one-time subscription Channels and other prepaid access Channels, a Channel may remain available until the last active purchaser's paid access period expires. Users who purchased access before Channel deletion may continue to access the Channel during their remaining paid access period.
For recurring subscription Channels, a creator may close the Channel to new subscribers and later delete the Channel after all active subscription periods have expired.
Neither Channel closure, Channel deletion, subscriber removal following expiration of paid access, nor the absence of new content during a Channel pause constitutes grounds for a refund where access has been provided for the applicable paid period.
7. Paid Subscriptions and Recurring Payments7.1 Subscription CancellationUsers may cancel eligible subscriptions according to the cancellation flow made available by the applicable platform, app store, payment provider, or Sociala.
A creator's decision to pause a Channel, stop publishing new content, close a Channel to new subscribers, or prepare a Channel for deletion does not by itself create a refund right, provided that users retain access during their applicable paid access period as described in the Terms of Use.
Canceling a subscription stops future renewals but does not automatically refund amounts already charged for the current or prior subscription periods. Access may continue until the end of the paid period unless the subscription, content, account, feature, or Channel is removed, restricted, or terminated under the Terms of Use or Platform Policies.
7.2 App-Store SubscriptionsSubscriptions purchased through Apple In-App Purchase or Google Play Billing may need to be canceled or managed through the user's Apple account, Google Play account, device settings, family purchase controls, or app-store subscription management tools.
Sociala may not be able to cancel, refund, or modify App-Store Transactions directly. If an app store grants a refund, cancels a subscription, reports a refund, or changes subscription status, Sociala may update entitlements and related records accordingly.
7.3 Creator Publishing FrequencyCreators are not required to publish content at any specific frequency unless expressly stated by Sociala or in a specific written offer. A creator's failure to publish new content during a subscription period does not by itself create a refund right.
A creator's failure to publish new content during a subscription period, including during a Channel pause period, does not by itself create a refund right.
7.4 Price ChangesSubscription price decreases may apply to the next billing cycle where supported. Subscription price increases, user confirmations, app-store approvals, parental approvals, or cancellations may be handled under the Terms of Use, Payment Systems Policy, and applicable app-store rules.
Refunds are not available solely because a user disagrees with a future price change if the user had the opportunity to cancel before the new price took effect.
8. Paid Messages8.1 Nature of Paid MessagesA Paid Message is a Digital Interaction Service that allows a user to initiate contact with another user. It is not a purchase of Digital Content and does not guarantee a response, continued communication, friendship, relationship, collaboration, service, outcome, or any specific benefit.
8.2 Completion of ServiceA Paid Message is considered fulfilled and completed once the recipient sends a valid response through the Platform, as determined by Sociala's internal system records. Message views, chat openings, passive interactions, or other non-message activity do not constitute a valid response.
Any actual message sent by the recipient through the Platform, regardless of length, substance, quality, usefulness, or later deletion, may constitute a valid response unless Sociala determines that the response is abusive, fraudulent, automated, minimal in bad faith, or otherwise intended to manipulate refund rules.
8.3 No Obligation to RespondRecipients are not obligated to respond to Paid Messages unless explicitly agreed otherwise under separate written terms supported by the Platform. The sender acknowledges before purchase that response is not guaranteed.
8.4 Automatic Refund if No ResponseIf no valid response is recorded within five (5) days from the time the Paid Message is sent, the payment will generally be automatically refunded to the sender's Sociala Balance, unless the transaction was processed through an app store or payment system that requires a different refund flow.
8.5 No Refund After ResponseOnce a valid response has been recorded by the Platform, the Paid Message is considered fulfilled and is non-refundable, regardless of user satisfaction, perceived quality, usefulness, brevity, tone, expectations, or continued communication.
8.6 Connection, Delivery, and Blocking RulesIf a connection between users is established before any valid response is recorded, the Paid Message may be refunded.
If the recipient blocks the sender before responding, the Paid Message may be refunded.
If the recipient blocks the sender after a valid response has been recorded, no refund will be issued solely on that basis.
If a Paid Message cannot be delivered due to a verified Platform-side technical issue or account restriction not caused by the sender, Sociala may issue a refund or Platform Credit at its discretion.
8.7 Minor Safety and Adult-to-Minor RestrictionsPaid Messages are not available to minors unless Sociala expressly enables limited access in a specific jurisdiction or context where legally permitted and all required parental approvals, age-assurance checks, purchase approvals, and safety controls have been satisfied.
Adults may not use Paid Messages to initiate paid contact with minors. If Sociala determines that a Paid Message involved a minor, suspected minor, adult-to-minor contact, age misrepresentation, or safety risk, Sociala may cancel, restrict, refund, deny, reverse, withhold, or adjust the transaction and may take enforcement action.
8.8 Abuse and MisuseSociala may deny refunds, reverse transactions, restrict Paid Message functionality, hold payouts, suspend accounts, or take other enforcement action in cases of spam, harassment, abusive messaging, repeated unwanted contact, fraud, manipulation, chargeback abuse, automated responses, bad-faith minimal responses, grooming, exploitation, policy violations, or attempts to manipulate Paid Message refund rules.
8.9 System RecordsFor purposes of Paid Messages, Sociala's internal system records are final and binding to the maximum extent permitted by law as to whether a Paid Message was sent, delivered, blocked, responded to, connected, refunded, fulfilled, abused, or otherwise eligible for refund.
9. Consultations and Video Sessions9.1 Nature of ConsultationsConsultations, video sessions, coaching calls, advisory sessions, meetings, and other real-time creator interaction services are Digital Interaction Services conducted between users through the Platform. They are not purchases of guaranteed outcomes, professional services by Sociala, certifications, employment, financial gain, medical advice, legal advice, therapeutic results, investment outcomes, immigration results, tax results, or any other guaranteed result.
9.2 No Guaranteed OutcomeRefunds are not available solely because a user is dissatisfied with a Consultation, disagrees with the creator's opinions, expected different advice, did not achieve a desired outcome, considers the Consultation unhelpful or low quality, expected professional advice, or believes the creator should have provided a different answer or result.
Once a Consultation has been attended, joined, started, or substantially participated in, the Consultation is generally considered delivered and fulfilled for purposes of this Policy, subject to the Terms of Use, app-store rules, and applicable law.
9.3 CancellationsUnless otherwise stated by Sociala or required by law:
Where supported, refunds for canceled Consultations may be credited to the user's Sociala Balance rather than returned to the original payment method, unless required otherwise by law, app-store rules, or payment processor rules.
9.4 Creator Cancellation or No-ShowIf a creator cancels, refuses, or reschedules a Consultation, Sociala may issue a refund, Platform Credit, rescheduling option, or other resolution at its discretion unless otherwise specified by the Platform or required by law.
If the creator is determined by Sociala to be a no-show, Sociala may issue a refund or Platform Credit to the purchaser.
9.5 Purchaser No-Show or Late ArrivalA participant who fails to join a Consultation within five (5) minutes after the scheduled start time may be considered a no-show under the Terms of Use.
If the purchaser is determined by Sociala to be a no-show, joins materially late, experiences avoidable user-side technical issues, fails to properly prepare, does not have access to required login credentials, does not use provided links correctly, misunderstands the time zone, or otherwise fails to participate within the required time window, the purchaser may forfeit all or part of the Consultation fee.
9.6 User-Side Technical IssuesRefunds are generally not available for internet connectivity issues, device or browser incompatibility, camera or microphone failures, email or magic-link access failures, time zone mistakes, user-side software or hardware problems, user account settings, notification settings, or other user-controlled participation failures.
9.7 Platform-Side Technical IssuesIf a verified Platform-side technical issue materially prevents a Consultation from occurring and Sociala cannot reasonably provide a rescheduling option, credit, or equivalent remedy, Sociala may issue a refund or Platform Credit.
9.8 Evidence and RecordingsConsultation recordings, attendance records, participation logs, timestamps, connection logs, consent confirmations, technical diagnostics, moderation reports, safety reports, fraud indicators, and related Platform records may be used by Sociala in reviewing disputes, refund requests, no-show claims, chargebacks, moderation matters, fraud investigations, payout eligibility, and enforcement decisions.
9.9 Regulated ServicesCreators may not offer regulated professional services unless properly licensed, authorized, qualified, and legally permitted. Sociala does not verify or guarantee creator qualifications. Refunds are not available solely because a user incorrectly assumed that a creator was licensed, unless Sociala determines that a creator made a deceptive or policy-violating representation and a refund or credit is appropriate.
9.10 Minors and ConsultationsConsultations are intended for users who are at least eighteen (18) years old. Minors may not book, purchase, offer, conduct, receive, or participate in paid Consultations unless Sociala expressly permits such access for a specific feature, jurisdiction, or use case and all required parental approval, age-assurance, recording consent, safety, and legal requirements have been satisfied.
If Sociala determines that a Consultation involved a minor, suspected minor, missing parental approval, revoked parental consent, adult-to-minor safety risk, or age misrepresentation, Sociala may cancel, restrict, refund, deny, reverse, withhold, adjust, or hold the transaction or payout and may take enforcement action.
9.11 Final DeterminationsSociala reserves the right to make final determinations regarding Consultation attendance, no-show status, cancellation status, refund eligibility, payout eligibility, disputes, moderation outcomes, technical failures, recording consent, and related matters based on Platform records and operational review.
10. Donations and Creator SupportDonations, tips, creator-support payments, and recurring monthly donations are voluntary payments made through the Platform. Unless expressly stated by a creator and supported by Sociala, donations do not guarantee access to any specific content, service, benefit, deliverable, response, or privilege.
Donations are generally non-refundable except where required by law. Users may cancel recurring monthly donations before the next billing cycle, but payments already successfully processed are generally non-refundable.
Donations connected to digital content, digital features, creator content, in-app digital experiences, or App-Store Transactions may be governed by Apple, Google, Stripe, payment processor, or app-store rules in addition to this Policy.
If a Channel or user profile associated with a one-time or recurring donation is deleted or permanently removed by the creator or by Sociala before the donation is successfully completed or at the time of processing, Sociala may issue a Platform Credit or take another action permitted by the applicable payment processor or app store.
Minors may not send or receive donations unless Sociala expressly enables limited access where legally permitted and all required parental approvals, age-assurance checks, purchase approvals, and safety controls have been satisfied.
11. Cashback, Promotions, Discounts, and CreditsCashback is a promotional pricing mechanism or purchase adjustment applied at the time of purchase where available. Cashback does not constitute a refund, partial refund, stored value, separate credit operation, payment account, payout, or transferable right.
Use of cashback does not create additional refund rights. Once a cashback transaction has been completed and the content, feature, or service has been accessed or fulfilled, the transaction is generally non-refundable except as expressly provided in this Policy or required by law.
Cashback may result in automatic subscription to or following of a creator, profile, or Channel where disclosed before purchase. A user's later desire to unfollow, unsubscribe, or undo the automatic follow/subscription does not create a refund right.
Promotional credits, discounts, trial offers, coupons, offer codes, referral credits, or similar incentives have no cash value, are not transferable, and do not create refund rights unless expressly stated by Sociala or required by law.
Cashback, promotions, discounts, and credits may be unavailable or restricted for minors, users without required parental approval, users in certain regions, or users accessing the Platform through certain app stores.
12. Situations Where Refunds Are Not AvailableExcept where required by applicable law, app-store rules, or payment processor rules, refunds will not be granted in the following situations:
For transactions processed directly by Sociala or through Stripe or another Sociala-supported payment provider, users may request a refund or Platform Credit by using the in-app support flow where available or by contacting Sociala at [email protected] or [email protected].
A refund request should include:
Refund requests must generally be submitted within seven (7) calendar days of the original purchase or charge unless a longer period is required by applicable law, app-store rules, or payment processor rules.
Refund requests relating to Consultations should be submitted as soon as reasonably possible after the scheduled Consultation time to preserve relevant operational records, recordings, technical logs, attendance logs, and review evidence.
Submission of a refund request does not guarantee that a refund, Platform Credit, reversal, or adjustment will be issued.
13.2 Paid MessagesEligible Paid Message refunds are generally processed automatically in accordance with this Policy and do not require a separate refund request unless Sociala requests additional information or the user believes the automatic process did not work correctly.
13.3 App-Store TransactionsFor Apple In-App Purchase transactions, users may need to request refunds through Apple using the Apple purchase history, device settings, Apple account tools, or other Apple-supported refund process.
For Google Play Billing transactions, users may need to request refunds through Google Play, the Google Play purchase history, device settings, Google account tools, or other Google-supported refund process.
Sociala may ask the user to provide the app-store receipt, order number, transaction ID, purchase token, subscription ID, or other app-store records necessary to evaluate entitlement status or support a store-managed refund process.
14. Refund ProcessingApproved refunds, credits, reversals, or adjustments are typically processed within up to thirty (30) calendar days after approval, although additional delays may occur depending on the user's financial institution, payment processor, app store, wallet provider, card network, fraud review, compliance review, chargeback status, tax handling, sanctions screening, legal review, technical process, or operational requirements.
Unless otherwise required by law or determined by Sociala in its discretion:
If a refund is granted, Sociala may remove, revoke, suspend, reduce, or modify access to the related content, subscription, Paid Message, Consultation, feature, Channel, Smartlist, creator access, Platform Credit, or other entitlement.
15. Chargebacks, Payment Disputes, and ReversalsUsers should contact Sociala support before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute, except where the user reasonably believes the transaction was unauthorized, fraudulent, or legally protected.
If a user initiates a chargeback, bank dispute, card dispute, app-store dispute, payment provider claim, or similar reversal, Sociala may:
Fraudulent, bad-faith, retaliatory, abusive, or manipulative chargebacks are material violations of the Terms of Use and Platform Policies.
16. Creator, Referrer, Affiliate, and Payout ImpactRefunds, credits, reversals, chargebacks, app-store refunds, purchase revocations, parental approval denials, consent revocations, disputes, taxes, fees, cashback, and other adjustments may reduce or eliminate amounts otherwise payable to creators, referrers, affiliates, Channel owners, Smartlist creators, reposting authors, Consultation providers, donation recipients, or other eligible recipients.
Sociala may withhold, delay, reverse, offset, claw back, freeze, adjust, or deny payouts or commissions where a related transaction is refunded, credited, reversed, charged back, disputed, restricted, found fraudulent, affected by app-store action, affected by parental approval issues, or otherwise subject to legal, safety, payment, or compliance review.
If a payout or commission has already been paid, Sociala may offset the amount against future earnings, require repayment, create a negative balance, or take another action permitted by the Terms of Use, Payment Systems Policy,Fees and Commissions Policy, and applicable law.
17. Account Deletion, Data Deletion, and RefundsDeleting an account, requesting data deletion, uninstalling the app, logging out, disabling notifications, removing a payment method, or stopping use of the Platform does not automatically cancel subscriptions, refund purchases, reverse transactions, waive Platform fees, release frozen funds, eliminate negative balances, or cancel chargebacks, disputes, compliance reviews, tax obligations, accounting obligations, app-store obligations, or payout conditions.
Users should cancel active subscriptions and withdraw eligible cleared funds before deleting their account where withdrawal is available.
Funds subject to clearance periods, renewal holds, fraud review, chargebacks, refund requests, disputes, legal retention, sanctions screening, tax review, payment processor rules, app-store rules, or unclaimed property rules may remain temporarily restricted until the relevant process is completed.
18. Taxes and CurrencyRefunds may not include taxes, VAT, sales tax, marketplace facilitator amounts, currency conversion costs, foreign exchange fees, bank fees, card network fees, app-store charges, payment processor fees, or other third-party charges unless required by law or unless such amounts are recoverable and Sociala determines that refunding them is appropriate.
Users are responsible for any tax consequences arising from purchases, refunds, credits, chargebacks, donations, payouts, commissions, and account activity. Sociala does not provide tax advice.
19. Abuse of Refunds and CreditsSociala may deny refund requests, restrict purchases, restrict payment methods, restrict accounts, deny Platform Credits, suspend features, revoke entitlements, hold payouts, or terminate accounts where Sociala determines that a user, creator, referrer, affiliate, or related party is abusing refund processes, exploiting cashback, manipulating Paid Messages, manipulating Consultation attendance, creating artificial transactions, coordinating chargebacks, using multiple accounts, misrepresenting facts, or otherwise acting in bad faith.
20. AppealsIf a refund request is denied, the user may submit one appeal per case by contacting [email protected] or [email protected] and providing additional supporting information or documentation.
Sociala may uphold, modify, or reverse the original decision after review. Unless otherwise required by law, app-store rules, or payment processor rules, Sociala's appeal decision is final.
21. Electronic NoticesSociala may send electronic communications relating to refunds, credits, reversals, chargebacks, subscription renewals, cancellations, failed payments, parental approval status, purchase approval status, consent revocation, fraud review, compliance review, enforcement action, policy updates, and account integrity matters by email, in-app notice, push notification, app-store mechanism, parental-control mechanism, or another legally permitted method.
