This Data Deletion Request Procedure (the "Procedure") explains how users may request deletion of personal data associated with their Sociala account, including how to initiate account deletion, how Sociala verifies requests, what happens after deletion, and what information may be retained where required or permitted by law.
This Procedure applies to users, creators, subscribers, fans, visitors, minors where permitted to use the Platform, parents or guardians acting on behalf of minors, and other individuals whose personal data is processed by Sociala in connection with the Platform.
This Procedure should be read together with Sociala's Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Account Deletion and Data Retention Policy, Payment Systems Policy, Fees and Commissions Policy, Refund Policy, Community Guidelines, Child Safety / CSAE Standards, and other applicable Platform Policies. In the event of any inconsistency, the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy prevail, unless another policy expressly controls for the specific subject matter.
Deletion of personal data or closure of an account does not automatically cancel, reverse, waive, refund, reduce, or eliminate completed transactions, Platform fees, commissions, payment processing charges, referral-related fees, withdrawal holds, payout conditions, chargebacks, refunds, tax obligations, legal obligations, compliance reviews, enforcement actions, or other obligations that arose before the deletion request.
Sociala may update this Procedure to reflect changes in law, app-store requirements, Platform features, payment systems, account deletion flows, or operational practices.
1. Available Deletion PathsUsers may initiate account deletion and associated data deletion through the methods described below. Sociala may provide additional deletion options or privacy request tools from time to time.
| Method | How to Use | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| In-app deletion | Open the Sociala app → Settings → Account → Delete Account, where available. | Primary account deletion path for users who can access the app. |
| Web deletion page | Visit https://sociala.com/delete-account or another account deletion URL designated by Sociala. | Public deletion resource for users who cannot access the app, have uninstalled the app, or need a web-based request path. |
| Privacy request page | Visit https://sociala.com/privacy-request where available. | Privacy rights requests, data access, correction, deletion, and related privacy assistance. |
| Email fallback | Email [email protected] with the subject line "Request for Data Deletion". | Backup method for users who cannot use the in-app or web deletion tools. |
| Support assistance | Contact [email protected] for account access issues or technical assistance. | Support path where the user cannot log in or complete verification. |
Requests for deletion are no longer limited exclusively to email. Email remains available as a fallback and support channel, but Sociala may require use of an in-app, web, or verified account flow where reasonably necessary for security, account authentication, payment review, legal compliance, or fraud prevention.
If Sociala uses a web page to complete account deletion from within a mobile app, the in-app deletion path may link directly to the applicable Sociala deletion page.
2. How to Submit a Deletion RequestTo submit a deletion request, use one of the available methods listed in Section 1.
If submitting by email, send the request to [email protected] with the subject line: Request for Data Deletion.
Please include the following information where available:
You may include the reason for your request, but this is optional. Sociala will not require you to provide a reason unless the reason is necessary to understand or process the request, resolve a dispute, verify your authority, or comply with applicable law.
Do not send full payment card numbers, passwords, government identification documents, or highly sensitive documents unless Sociala specifically requests them through a secure channel for verification or legal compliance.
3. Account Deletion vs. Data DeletionAccount deletion generally means closing the Sociala account and deleting or de-identifying associated personal data that Sociala is not required or permitted to retain.
Data deletion may mean deleting specific categories of personal data while the account remains active, where supported by the Platform and applicable law.
Logging out, uninstalling the app, disabling notifications, hiding a profile, pausing a subscription, or temporarily deactivating an account is not the same as deleting an account.
If you request account deletion, Sociala may remove or de-identify your profile, account credentials, active session data, and other account-linked personal data from active systems, subject to the retention exceptions described in this Procedure and the Privacy Policy.
If you request deletion of specific data only, Sociala may ask you to identify the data category, feature, transaction, content, message, Consultation, or other record involved. Sociala may deny or limit deletion of specific data where retention is required or permitted by law, safety, fraud prevention, transaction integrity, moderation, child safety, dispute resolution, or Platform operation.
4. Verification and SecurityTo protect account security, user privacy, and Platform integrity, Sociala may require reasonable verification before processing a deletion request.
Verification may include:
If Sociala cannot verify the request, Sociala may decline, pause, or delay the request until sufficient verification is provided.
Sociala will not process a deletion request if Sociala reasonably believes the request is fraudulent, unauthorized, abusive, intended to conceal policy violations, intended to interfere with financial or safety reviews, or submitted by a person without authority over the account or data.
5. Authorized Agents, Parents, Guardians, and Minor AccountsAn authorized agent may submit a request on behalf of a user where permitted by applicable law. Sociala may require proof of authorization and may require the user to confirm the request directly unless prohibited by law.
A parent or legal guardian may request deletion, restriction, or review of a minor's account or personal data where required or supported by applicable law, app-store rules, parental consent processes, or Sociala's safety procedures.
Sociala may verify the authority of the parent or guardian before processing the request. Verification may include confirmation through app-store parental-control tools, parent/guardian account information, email confirmation, legal documentation where appropriate, or other reasonable methods.
If a parent or guardian revokes approval through an app store, parental-control tool, or other supported mechanism, Sociala may restrict or disable the minor's access to the Platform or affected features. Revocation of app approval is not always the same as a full account deletion request, but Sociala may provide the parent or guardian with available deletion or restriction options.
Users under the age of 13 are not permitted to use Sociala. If Sociala learns that it has collected personal data from a child under 13 without required consent or legal authorization, Sociala may delete or restrict the data and account, subject to lawful retention for safety, child-safety reporting, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or enforcement.
6. Processing TimelineAfter Sociala receives and verifies a deletion request, Sociala will process the request within the timeframe required by applicable law. Where no shorter legal period applies, Sociala generally aims to complete verified deletion requests within thirty (30) calendar days.
Sociala may extend or pause processing where reasonably necessary or legally permitted, including for:
Sociala may provide status updates, confirmation, requests for verification, or decisions regarding a request by email, in-product notice, web request portal, app-store mechanism, or other legally permitted electronic method.
If Sociala denies, limits, or delays a request, Sociala will provide an explanation where required by applicable law and where doing so would not compromise security, fraud prevention, child safety, legal compliance, investigations, or Platform integrity.
7. Effect of Account DeletionDeletion of personal data is generally permanent and cannot be reversed once completed.
Where a deletion request results in account closure:
Deletion does not by itself eliminate prior contractual obligations, completed transactions, subscription obligations, app-store purchase obligations, policy enforcement consequences, Consultation dispute reviews, Consultation evidence preservation, recording-related investigations, payout conditions, refund obligations, chargeback liability, tax obligations, or financial recordkeeping obligations.
Account deletion does not automatically cancel subscriptions or billing arrangements managed by Apple, Google, Stripe, or another third-party provider. Users are responsible for cancelling app-store-managed or third-party-managed subscriptions through the applicable provider's subscription management tools, where required.
8. Data That Sociala May Delete or De-IdentifySubject to verification, applicable law, technical feasibility, and the retention exceptions described in this Procedure, Sociala may delete or de-identify categories of data such as:
Sociala may de-identify or aggregate data instead of deleting it where permitted by applicable law, provided the resulting data no longer identifies the user.
9. Data That May Be RetainedEven if a deletion request is granted, Sociala may retain certain information to the extent required or permitted by applicable law or reasonably necessary for legitimate business, safety, compliance, and Platform integrity purposes.
Data that may be retained includes, without limitation:
Consultation recordings, recording consent records, attendance logs, participation records, technical session data, moderation records, dispute records, and related operational evidence may be retained after account deletion where reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, chargeback handling, legal compliance, moderation, trust and safety review, dispute resolution, enforcement of Platform Policies, or protection of Sociala, users, creators, payment providers, app stores, or third parties.
Sociala may also retain anonymized or aggregated data that does not identify the user.
10. App-Store Age Signals and Parental Consent DataWhere required or permitted by applicable law or app-store rules, Sociala may receive age category, parental consent status, purchase approval status, app approval status, consent revocation status, significant-change approval status, install identifiers, or similar signals from Apple, Google, app stores, operating systems, or parental-control tools.
Sociala uses such information only for age-appropriate experiences, age restrictions, parental consent, legal compliance, safety defaults, fraud prevention, and related trust and safety purposes, and not for advertising, marketing, profiling, behavioral targeting, growth analytics, or unrelated commercial purposes.
Personal data received from an app store solely for age verification will be deleted after completion of the required verification where required by applicable law, unless retention is required or permitted for legal compliance, safety, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, audit, or compliance recordkeeping.
Sociala may retain limited derived flags, eligibility decisions, approval status, revocation status, timestamps, and compliance logs where permitted by applicable law and Platform Policies.
11. Content, Purchases, Messages, and Other UsersDeletion of one user's account or data may affect content, records, or interactions involving other users. Sociala may retain or continue to display limited information where necessary to preserve the rights, records, purchases, interactions, or safety of other users, creators, buyers, subscribers, or administrators.
Examples include:
Sociala is not responsible for deleting copies of information that other users, creators, third parties, search engines, app stores, payment providers, or external services have already accessed, copied, downloaded, screenshotted, exported, indexed, or stored independently, except where Sociala is legally required and technically able to request deletion from a service provider acting on Sociala's behalf.
12. Service Providers and Third PartiesSociala may use service providers to operate the Platform, including hosting, storage, payment processing, payout processing, customer support, analytics, crash reporting, messaging, video communication, moderation, fraud prevention, security, email delivery, app-store tools, and other operational services.
Where deletion is required and the relevant provider processes data on Sociala's behalf, Sociala may take reasonable steps to delete the data from Sociala-controlled systems and request that applicable service providers delete or de-identify the data, subject to legal, contractual, security, technical, and operational limitations.
Some third parties, such as Apple, Google, Stripe, banks, payment networks, third-party login providers, connected apps, or creators who independently receive data, may process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Requests involving those third parties may need to be submitted directly to the relevant third party.
13. Backups, Archives, and Technical DeletionAfter deletion from active systems, some personal data may remain in encrypted backups, archives, logs, or disaster recovery systems until overwritten, deleted, or rotated under Sociala's ordinary retention and backup cycles.
Backup or archive data is generally not used for ordinary Platform operations and will not be restored to active systems except where necessary for disaster recovery, security, legal compliance, fraud prevention, audit, dispute resolution, or other legitimate operational purposes.
If backup data is restored, Sociala will take reasonable steps to re-apply deletion or de-identification where required and technically feasible.
14. Financial and Account Considerations Before DeletionBefore requesting account deletion, users should review the Terms of Use, Payment Systems Policy, Fees and Commissions Policy, and Refund Policy, especially provisions relating to:
Users with remaining eligible funds should complete any permitted withdrawal before account deletion where withdrawal is available. After deletion is completed, access to account tools, payout tools, balance views, tax records, and withdrawal functionality may no longer be available through the normal account interface.
Sociala does not confiscate funds solely because a user requests deletion. However, Sociala may withhold, set off, reverse, return, restrict, retain, or forfeit funds where required or permitted under the Terms of Use, Payment Systems Policy, Fees and Commissions Policy, Refund Policy, app-store rules, payment processor rules, unclaimed property laws, fraud prevention obligations, legal obligations, or other applicable Platform Policies.
15. Requests That May Be Denied, Limited, or DelayedSociala may deny, limit, or delay a deletion request where required or permitted by applicable law or where reasonably necessary for:
Sociala may also deny or limit requests that are manifestly unfounded, excessive, repetitive, fraudulent, abusive, technically infeasible, or submitted by a person who cannot verify authority over the relevant account or data.
16. Data Deletion Results and ConfirmationAfter completing, denying, limiting, or extending a deletion request, Sociala may send confirmation or status information by email, in-product notice, web request portal, or other legally permitted method.
A deletion confirmation may describe, where appropriate:
Sociala may limit the detail provided in a response where disclosure could compromise security, fraud prevention, child safety, law enforcement, legal compliance, abuse prevention, internal systems, or the privacy or safety of other users.
17. Appeals and Follow-Up RequestsWhere required by applicable law, users may appeal or ask Sociala to reconsider a denial or limitation of a deletion request.
To submit a follow-up or appeal, contact [email protected] with the subject line: Data Deletion Appeal.
Please include the original request date, the email address associated with the account, the reason for the appeal, and any information needed to evaluate the request. Do not include sensitive documents unless requested through a secure channel.
