Effective Date: October 14, 2026
These Widget & Call Terms (“Call Terms”) apply to Sociala Widgets and free or paid audio/video calls arranged through Sociala (“Calls”). They supplement the Sociala Terms of Use, Privacy & Cookies Policy, and Community & Safety Guidelines. By creating or using a Widget, offering or booking a Call, or joining a Call, you agree to these Call Terms. Separate consent is required where stated below.
1. Widgets, Accounts, and Public ProfilesA Widget is a Sociala-hosted public page or interface through which users may offer Calls and other supported Sociala services. A person offering a Call is the Host; a person booking or attending it is a Participant. A Call may be a conversation, meeting, lesson, consultation, or other permitted interaction; Sociala does not classify every Call as professional advice.
Creating a Widget or offering a Call requires a Sociala account. Booking may also create an account and associated public profile if the Participant does not have one; this must be disclosed before account creation. Booking does not create the Participant’s own Widget. Only information identified as public is displayed on a public profile or Widget. Public pages, offers, and profiles may be accessible without signing in and indexed by search engines. Payment details, private booking information, and Call recordings are not public merely because a profile exists.
2. Eligibility and Host ResponsibilitiesHosts and Participants must be at least 18 years old (or older where local law requires), legally able to contract, and comply with Sociala policies and applicable law. Hosts independently determine their permitted services, descriptions, prices, availability, qualifications, and required licenses, professional disclosures, or insurance. A Call does not automatically create a doctor–patient, attorney–client, or other regulated professional relationship with Sociala. Sociala may restrict categories or locations for legal, safety, payment, or app-store reasons.
3. Creating and Booking CallsA Host may offer free or paid Calls with the supported title, description, duration, price, and availability. The current product limit is 10 Calls per Widget. A booking is confirmed only when Sociala issues confirmation and applicable payment-authorization conditions in Section 4 are met; a displayed slot alone is not a confirmed booking.
Before booking, Sociala displays the price, relevant payment and cancellation conditions, and the applicable terms. For a booking made less than 24 hours before the Call, the booking flow must disclose that the late-cancellation period has already begun, including the applicable 50% cancellation charge. Changing to a different Call or price requires a new booking and payment authorization; Sociala does not silently increase an existing authorization.
Recording and AI Disclosure Before Booking
By booking a Call, Participants acknowledge that Calls may be recorded and that Sociala may use recordings, transcripts, and related materials for disclosed purposes, including the development, training, and improvement of Sociala's own AI models, subject to applicable law and any required separate consent.
Sociala provides appropriate recording notices and obtains any legally required affirmative consent before recording. Separate consent for AI model training is obtained where required, as described in Sections 6 and 7.
4. Payment AuthorizationFor paid Calls, the Participant authorizes Sociala and its payment provider to reserve and collect the disclosed Call price or an applicable cancellation/no-show charge. A card authorization or hold is not necessarily a completed charge.
Sociala may capture an authorization before it expires and issue any refund required by these Call Terms or applicable law. Holds, charges, refunds, and bank settlement have different processing times depending on the payment provider, card network, and bank.
5. Cancellations, Attendance, and No-ShowsUnless mandatory law requires otherwise, these rules apply to the displayed Call price:
| Event | Participant charge |
|---|---|
| Participant cancels 24 hours or more before the scheduled start | 0% |
| Participant cancels less than 24 hours before the scheduled start | 50% |
| Participant does not attend, but the Host attends | 100% |
| Host cancels or fails to attend | 0% |
| Neither Host nor Participant attends | 0% |
Where 50% is payable, Sociala charges or retains only 50% of the Call price and releases or refunds the remainder. Applicable percentage-based platform fees are calculated on the amount actually charged, not the cancelled portion; payment-processing fees and non-refundable provider charges remain subject to their disclosed terms and applicable law. Where no charge is due, any captured Call payment is refunded; release or refund timing depends on the payment provider and bank.
A participant who has not joined within five (5) minutes after the scheduled start time may be treated as a no-show. No-shows are determined from the scheduled Call, available attendance and connection records, and relevant evidence. Sociala may review technical problems and other circumstances before applying a charge. Verified material failures of Sociala's service, an inability of the Host to provide the Call, and mandatory consumer rights override charges that would otherwise apply. Disputes may be submitted to [email protected].
Rescheduling is not currently supported. Changing a time generally requires cancelling the original booking and making a new booking; the original cancellation terms apply.
6. Recording and ConsentWhere recording is enabled, a Call may include audio and/or video recording. Every person being recorded must provide separate, affirmative recording consent before their audio or video is captured. Accepting general terms, booking, or joining a Call is not recording consent. Sociala displays a recording notice or indicator.
Recording may start when the first consenting person joins, including while that person is alone. No other person may be recorded before their consent. Recording may continue through a participant's temporary departure while the required consent remains valid. If required consent is refused or withdrawn, Sociala must stop recording the affected person or prevent further capture; if recording is mandatory for that Call, participation may not be possible. Any such mandatory condition must be disclosed before booking.
Under the current Call feature, Sociala does not provide Hosts or Participants with playback or download access to recordings. Access is restricted to authorized Sociala personnel and service providers where necessary for the purposes disclosed in the Privacy & Cookies Policy, subject to applicable law and appropriate safeguards. Any future user access functionality will be subject to updated disclosures and legally required consents. Users may not secretly record, publish, or distribute another person's private Call content contrary to applicable law or their rights.
7. AI Processing and RetentionWhere AI features are enabled and disclosed, Sociala may process Call content to provide transcription, real-time translation, summaries, notes, accessibility features, and other Platform functionality, as well as for service operations, quality assurance, safety, fraud prevention, and other lawful purposes described in the Privacy & Cookies Policy
Such processing may involve Sociala's own systems and authorized third-party service providers, subject to applicable law and appropriate safeguards. AI-generated outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete, and Sociala does not guarantee their accuracy or suitability for any particular purpose, subject to applicable law.
AI Model Development and Training
Subject to applicable law and appropriate authorization, Sociala may use Call recordings, transcripts, and related materials collected directly through the Platform to develop, train, fine-tune, test, evaluate, maintain, and improve its own artificial intelligence and machine learning models, including models supporting existing and future Platform features.
By booking or participating in a Call, users acknowledge that Call recordings, transcripts, and related materials may be used for AI model development and training, subject to applicable law and any required separate consent or authorization.
Consent to recording does not, by itself, constitute consent to AI model training. Where separate consent is legally required, Sociala will obtain appropriate affirmative consent from each affected participant before using their Call content for that purpose. Where applicable law permits processing on another valid legal basis, Sociala may rely on that basis subject to the required disclosures, safeguards, and individual rights.
Where AI training consent is optional, declining such consent will not prevent users from participating in a Call or accessing unrelated Platform features. This does not affect processing necessary to provide requested AI-enabled functionality or other processing permitted by applicable law.
Where processing is based on consent, users may withdraw that consent for future processing by contacting [email protected] or through available Platform controls. Withdrawal does not affect processing lawfully conducted before withdrawal. Requests relating to retained materials or previously trained models will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the Privacy & Cookies Policy.
Sociala may apply appropriate data minimization, de-identification, access controls, and other safeguards to materials used for AI development and training.
Recording and Data Retention
Call recordings are generally retained for approximately three months following a Call and are thereafter deleted or de-identified, unless longer retention is necessary or permitted under applicable law for legitimate purposes, including compliance, security, investigations, disputes, preservation of evidence, or backup processes.
Where Call content is lawfully used for AI model development or training, authorized training materials, including appropriately de-identified or derived materials, may be retained for periods reasonably necessary for the applicable purposes, subject to applicable law, appropriate safeguards, and relevant deletion rights.
Booking, payment, consent, attendance, and security records may be retained for different periods as described in the Privacy & Cookies Policy.
8. Fees and Host PayoutsApplicable platform, processing, referral, repost, tax, conversion, payout, and other charges are governed by the Sociala Terms of Use and the fees disclosed for the available transaction or accepted Creator terms.
Calls booked directly through a Sociala Widget or Sociala-generated Call page are not subject to the standard 25% Referral Fee. Existing referral attribution remains available for other eligible transactions. For late cancellations and no-shows, applicable percentage-based platform fees are calculated on the amount actually charged, subject to governing payment-provider terms, disclosures, and mandatory law. Binding promotional or contractual fee entitlements are not cancelled retroactively.
For completed paid Calls, eligible Host proceeds are generally transferred to the Host's connected Stripe account approximately 3 calendar days after the Call ends, subject to payment success, deductions, refunds, disputes, compliance checks, and provider restrictions. This is not a guarantee of bank settlement within 3 days.
9. Consumer Rights, Refunds, and DisputesNon-waivable consumer rights take precedence over these Call Terms. Where an EEA or UK consumer has a statutory withdrawal right, applicable notice, early-performance consent, exceptions, and proportionate-payment rules govern; a contractual cancellation/no-show charge does not replace them. Refunds and reversals may adjust Host proceeds. Users retain lawful rights to contact their payment provider or pursue statutory remedies without first contacting Sociala.
10. Communications and Third PartiesSociala may send necessary account, booking, meeting-link, authorization, payment, cancellation, refund, and security notices, separately from optional marketing. Widgets may be embedded on third-party websites; the website owner remains responsible for its own data collection, notices, and cookies, and must preserve Sociala's booking, payment, and recording disclosures. Calls may rely on Stripe and video, calendar, cloud, or other providers governed by their applicable terms and privacy notices.
11. Conduct, Changes, and Relationship to Other TermsFraud, misleading offers, impersonation, unauthorized recording or disclosure, harassment, payment abuse, and other conduct prohibited by Sociala policies are not allowed. Sociala does not guarantee Call quality, availability, bookings, earnings, advice, or results, subject to non-waivable legal obligations.
These Call Terms control over the general Terms of Use only for Call-specific booking, payment authorization, cancellation, attendance, recording, and payout procedures. The Privacy & Cookies Policy governs personal-data processing; the Community & Safety Guidelines govern content and conduct. Sociala may change, restrict, or suspend features under the Terms of Use and applicable law, but changes do not retroactively deprive users of rights in an existing booking. General governing-law, liability, and dispute provisions of the Terms of Use apply, subject to mandatory law.
