The Road to Bowling Dominance: Storm's Revolutionary New Creation

Join me as we delve into the exciting world of bowling with the all-new Road from Storm, a remarkable creation that’s poised to revolutionize your game.

At first glance, the Road’s name may seem uninspired, but don’t let that fool you. This groundbreaking bowling ball boasts a cutting-edge Rex hybrid cover and an innovative AI Core technology that modifies the inverted fe2 core, resulting in an unparalleled performance.

As a USBC silver certified coach, I was eager to put the Road to the test with a layout tailored specifically to my 14lb bowling ball. The AI Core technology significantly enhances the core strength, allowing for a more aggressive and continuous motion down the lane.

On the lanes, the Road exhibited an impressive shape, with a cleaner transition than anticipated. The increased core strength, coupled with the aggressive layout, propelled the ball off the spot with remarkable force, carrying through the pins with a satisfying thud.

But what truly sets the Road apart is its ability to seamlessly blend the best of both worlds. The inverted fe2 core, a time-honored design, provides a familiar foundation, while the Rex Pearl cover and AI Core technology bring a fresh and innovative twist. This combination creates a bowling ball that’s both nostalgically familiar yet strikingly modern, excelling in today’s bowling conditions.

However, it’s important to note that the Road does have one notable downside: its sensitivity to carry down. As soon as there was any accumulation of oil around the eight-board, the Road struggled to strike consistently. This issue can be mitigated by moving further inside and looping around the carry down, but it’s something to keep in mind when selecting the Road for your arsenal.

To complement the Road, I recommend pairing it with two other exceptional bowling balls: the Rotor Grip Tour Dynamics and the Virtual Energy Blackout. The Tour Dynamics is a superb benchmark piece, while the Virtual Energy Blackout excels in handling carry down. Together, these three balls offer a comprehensive arsenal that can handle a wide range of lane conditions.

In terms of comparisons to other brands, the Road shares some similarities with the Primal Shock from Motive, but it offers a slightly cleaner shape and more versatility. The Ebonite Big Time SE, on the other hand, has a smoother and more even shape due to its sanded Pearl cover.

Ultimately, the Road is a fantastic choice for balanced bowlers who seek a reliable and aggressive bowling ball. It’s also a great option for bowlers who have struggled with previous High Road releases, as the AI Core and Rex hybrid cover bring a fresh and improved performance.

While the Road’s name may not be the most creative, its performance on the lanes is nothing short of extraordinary. It’s a bowling ball that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression, helping you dominate the competition and pave your way to victory.
