There’s a corner in my garden that feels like it’s always putting on a show 🎭🌺 the bed where my ornamental poppies bloom.
When they first open, the flowers are almost unreal… bright, silky petals wrapped around themselves like little round lanterns or colorful balls. It’s the kind of beauty that makes you stop mid‑step just to stare.
Then time passes, and the show changes. The petals start to fade and shrink, revealing the poppy’s “crown” that magical seed head with perfect little patterns on top. It’s just as fascinating as the bloom itself, because inside, thousands of tiny seeds are quietly forming. Each stage has its own charm and I love watching this transformation day by day.
Unlike wild poppies you see in fields, these ornamental poppies are the ones you choose and sow yourself. They feel like a collaboration with nature you give them a place and they reward you with art in motion.
