The Secret Bloom of Arugula

Not every flower is here to steal the spotlight some are content just quietly blooming in the corners of your garden… like arugula 💚🌿

Yes that peppery, bold salad green I absolutely love… also blooms! And today, I caught it in flower. Tiny, delicate white blossoms with thin purple veins, almost like watercolor sketches they’re so gentle, so easily missed but unbelievably charming when you pause to notice them. They feel like nature's little wink ✨

I adore arugula not only for its taste (spicy, nutty, fresh!) but for its personality. It grows fast, doesn’t ask for much and offers both flavor and beauty. Honestly, if there were an award for overachieving salad greens arugula wins 🥗🌸

Here’s a fun fact: Arugula has been loved since ancient Roman times. It was believed to be an aphrodisiac and was even considered too wild to be grown in monasteries 😅 Medieval monks banned it for being too stimulating. Imagine that a salad so passionate it got censored!

I think that’s part of why I love it arugula reminds me that even the quietest things can have fire in them. So today, a little tribute to this underrated beauty for her flavor, her history, and her elegant little flowers I couldn’t stop photographing 🌼

As always every photo taken by me, with dirt under my nails and joy in my lens 📸🌿
