In this detailed video, we explore the reasons behind my decision to upgrade my tripod for predator hunting. I transitioned from a Bog Death Grip tripod to an Interrel tripod, aiming to achieve full range of motion with my rifle.
The Interrel tripod features a 44-millimeter ball head, a quick-adjust top plate, 10-layer carbon fiber legs, removable feet with included spikes, and an adjustable top that extends over a foot in length. It offers a strong and stable platform for shooting, with a payload capacity of 55 pounds and leg diameters ranging from 1.28 to 0.87 inches. The tripod weighs approximately five pounds, making it lighter and more compact than the Bog Death Grip.
To enhance the functionality of the tripod, I swapped the included plate with a Sunway Photo DDC60LR top plate, providing a locking mechanism to prevent the rifle from accidentally falling out. This modification ensures peace of mind while carrying the tripod with the rifle attached.
The Interrel tripod excels in uneven terrain, allowing for precise leveling and smooth panning and tilting of the rifle, thanks to its ball head design. It offers a slightly more flexible feel compared to the Bog Death Grip, providing a bit of wiggle room at long-range distances.
Overall, I highly recommend the Interrel tripod, particularly for those seeking a high-quality and affordable option that surpasses the capabilities of the Bog Death Grip. Despite being offered by some retailers as premium predator hunting tripods at inflated prices, you can acquire the same tripod directly from Amazon for around $250 with a 5% discount. By supporting Interrel, the original manufacturer, you can save significant money while enjoying a top-notch tripod for your predator hunting adventures.
